Are you feeling a tad sluggish after the festive season? You are not alone, we are here to help and going on a strict low calorie diet isn’t the answer – Harrah! Follow our simple tips to start feeling lighter, more energised and lose any excess fat that may have crept on over the last few weeks. Your body will thank you for it and you will feel revitalised and ready to take on new year, so bring on 2015!
1. Lemon water
Instead of reaching for the milky coffee in the mornings go for a slice of lemon in warm water, this will kick start your digestion and metabolism. It also supports the liver and helps your body absorb the nutrients from the food you eat during the day. A fantastic start to the day!
2. Get moving
Your body will LOVE you for this, trust us J. Lace up and head outside for a brisk walk or jog, or why not try a local class like zumba, yoga or pilates. Although we should mention it is addictive!
3. Give the blender a whirl!
Make a green smoothie to really give your system the boost it needs with all your vitamins and minerals in one cup, sounds great right? Give this one a go and enjoy how it makes you feel.
2 kiwi fruits, chopped
1/2 avocado
2 kiwi fruits
Handful spinach
1/2 lemon or lime (juice only)
1/2 cucumber
1 ½ cups water or coconut water
1 handful kale
1 tbsp almond butter
4. Think natural, clean and organic
If you are still feeling the bloat it might be time to eliminate some toxic culprits from your diet for 5-7days and include fresh, clean and organic food. Try removing dairy, wheat, sugar, alcohol, caffeine and processed foods for 5-7 days to reset your system, get rid of all those unwanted toxins and get you healthy at a cellular level. You will certainly feel fully revitalised after this, you will also notice stubborn fat will be reduced if not completely gone – bonus! Here is a simple meal plan for you to try
Breakfast:
Lemon water
1 Poached egg. Handful Spinach, 6 Cherry tomatoes, ½ clove of garlic (all fried in Olive oil)
1tsp sunflower seeds sprinkled on top seasoned with black pepper.
Lunch:
Tuna and Quinoa salad topped with 1tbsp flaxseed and olive oil and balsamic dressing.
Dinner:
Oven baked fresh Salmon/Chicken. Lightly fried (in olive oil) broccoli and clove of garlic. Jacket Sweet Potato.
Snacks:
Handful Walnuts/Blueberries
5. Water Water and more Water!
Aiming to drink 2 – 3 litres of water per day is one of the best things that you can do to see and feel positive changes to your health. Water is essential to flush out all those unwanted toxins, keep you hydrated and helps your internal organs work efficiently. So drink up 🙂
