We wanted to give the gift of serenity to the lovely women at Sana Vita this March, so in celebration of mother’s day we decided to put on a relaxing yoga class as a special treat here at the studio. The gentle class provided the perfect opportunity to take a step back and unwind, centring on the aim of peace of mind. To help recharge their batteries a bit more, we gave out gift bags full of beauty bits and healthy treats as well as vouchers for the spa. It was a really amazing afternoon and we want to thank all the ladies that came along.
Yoga is a great practice to incorporate into your weekly fitness regime due to its almost countless list of benefits. It helps build up a strong and supple body by working your muscles, stretching your spine and strengthening your joints. The intensity can be easily adjusted making it great for easing tense muscles or a low impact whole body workout as it doesn’t raise your heartrate like high impact workouts would. Research has shown that it helps with a variety of specific conditions, from arthritis and diabetes to indigestion and heart conditions. And, on top of all this, it is a hell of a lot fun!
Its restorative effects also extend to the mind too due to the combination of the release of endorphins and focus on breathing, which leads to a decrease in stress, increased concentration levels, and a more focussed and relaxed state of mind. With meditation at the core of yoga, your state of mind is also given a workout and this increased attention on overall wellbeing as opposed to just physical fitness is exactly what we want to achieve.
If you missed out on all the fun and want to experience the benefits for yourself, why not come down to the studio to give it a go?
