The big question… Have you set any?
I have to be honest I’m not a big fan of New Years resolutions particularly if they are from the ‘on a diet’ or ‘off a diet’ mentality, which I personally don’t think is the best approach to achieving long term optimal health.
The Christmas period is a time of year when there is naturally more indulgent foods available, and often a time when we might eat a tad more than we normally would.
I would say this doesn’t need to cause the ‘I need to go on a diet in the New Year’ approach, in the new year these foods are naturally reduced and as a by-product we eat slightly less again.
With this in mind I think Christmas could be factored into our lives as a period of enjoyment without judgment or stress, almost like swimming over a small wave in our health, we’ll reach the other side and settle back to where we were before Christmas.
So what do you think? If setting New Years resolutions each year to lose weight or eat healthier works for you I’d love to hear!
To your health and happiness this coming year!
