When you think of your goal weight or goal body shape do you think it will make you happy?
I often hear client’s say I’ll be so much happier when I’m this weight or when I can fit into a certain size of clothing, but why wait until you’re a certain shape or size to be happy? Have you ever thought that you can be happy right now, whatever size or shape you are?
The reason I ask this is because I have learned, from working with client’s and from my own approach to weight loss, that you will still feel the same emotions whatever weight or shape you are.
So even when you reach your goal weight, which is certainly something to celebrate, it’s good to remember that there will still be days when you feel abit unhappy, fed up, anxious and sad. Being a certain weight won’t make these emotions go away.
What can help here is to really look into why you’d like to lose weight or change your body shape, is it because you think it will make you happy? If it is, then know that you can absolutely feel that emotion right now. If you do allow yourself to feel the emotion now, then the chances are you’ll make positive choices, in comparison to if you are waking up every day feeling unhappy because you aren’t a certain weight.
Feel free to take a moment now to close your eyes, imagine you’re sitting here reading this blog post at your ideal weight, how does it make you feel? What does it make you want to do? What choices do you want to take whether in relation to your weight or in your daily life? Allow yourself to feel happy here in this moment, know that this is available to you right now and at your goal weight!
